Who is GrooveHub
GrooveHub, winner of Bratislava Jazz Days 2014 Young Talents Contest, was founded in the fall of 2012 by keyboard player, composer and arranger Ľubomír Šramo. Along with an energetic and creative rhythmic section comprising Radovan Vallach on drums and Adam Hudecon bass they create a sound that crosses the boundaries of traditional music genres.
In GrooveHub’s debut album ''Enter the Hub'' you can expect more than 70 minutes worth of original material where different genres meet, such as jazz, latin, or film music. Thus it is not meant solely for jazz aficionados, butfor all fans of energetic instrumental music. There is a strong presence of often untraditionally arranged parts, giving the songs variety and an element of surprise. Composition takes turns with solo parts of individual instruments, underlined by pulsating grooves and rhythms full of rock ardor. The music of GrooveHub is influenced by contemporary jazz fusion artists while also featuring the band’s own signature style.
A year of preparation followed by two years of activity brought the band notable achievements:
2014 - Jazz Start Up jazz competition 1st round victory
2014 - Bratislava Jazz Days Young Talents competition victory
2015 - debut album Enter the Hub release
2015 - Bratislava Jazz Days performance (the biggest international jazz festival held in Slovakia)
2015 - collective performance award by a committee of acclaimed Slovak jazz musicians in New Faces of Slovak Jazz competition
2016 - Esprit 2015 award nomination (Slovak jazz album of the year)
2016 - support for Victor Wooten Trio
